Very thick and comfortable. I'll definitely be buying another pair. Initially I bought these as a summer pair of pajamas bottoms. I find that they are very suitable for the gym as well (over the polyester type shorts). The length is perfect. Construction seems very durable. Color looks like it'll hold and not fade very quickly. I bought a medium and I'm 5'10" approximately 172 lbs. About a 32-33" waist. I thought a medium would be more baggy and I was a little surprised when I initially put them on. In the end I'm pleased with a medium especially considering the thick waist band these shorts have. The waist band definitely doesn't put too much pressure around the waist making these shorts especially ideal for sleeping and for those annoyed by shorts that "dig in".
